Taste of School Gardens
We are proud to once again support Grow Some Good and participate in their Taste of School Gardens event on Saturday March 10th at the Maui Tropical Plantation's Grand View Lawn.
Grow Some Good is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating hands-on, outdoor learning experiences that cultivate curiosity about natural life cycles, connect students to their food sources, and inspire better nutrition choices. In addition to helping establish food gardens and living science labs in local schools, we provide resources and curriculum support through community partnerships in agriculture, science, food education and nutrition.
Makena's Executive Chef Chris Kulis joined acclaimed chefs across the island to prepare scrumptious dishes incorporating ingredients that Maui keiki grow in their own gardens.
Chef Kulis prepared Crispy Malama Farms Trotters Steamed Buns, “banh mi”, Pickled Garden Veggies and a Grilled Kula Onion with Onion Surfing Goat, Curried Cauliflower, Horseradish, Meyer Lemon.
We look forward to our continued partnership with Grow Some Good. Below are more photos from this beloved Maui Community event:
